For Eun Joo’s birthday and as part of the final message he posted to the “From YG” section of YG Entertainment’s official website on March 9, Hyun Suk confessed to being in a relationship with her for the past nine years. He hadn’t disclosed the identity of his girlfriend to anyone before, not even other YG artists.
While they have no plans to get married this year, he says he recently made up his mind to spend the rest of his life with her.
1TYM and Moogadang member Song Baek Kyoung posted a message about the news on his Cyworld. In addition to giving them his blessing, the message contained an apology to Eun Joo for “making her cry”, in reference to the times he made fun of Hyun Suk (as most YG artists do :)) in front of her.
On an amusing note, Hyun Suk stated two years ago that he’d been in a relationship for three years with a girl who wasn’t from the entertainment industry and whom he’d met by accident. Remember that? He did mention at that point that his girlfriend was 10 years younger than him, but that wasn’t completely accurate, either – Eun Joo is a bit younger than that. He certainly did a good job of keeping their relationship a secret!
