Seung Ri & Taeyang Twitter news

Taeyang updated his Twitter today with a picture of seven people on a banana boat and the caption “Finally a day off to play in the sun! Try and figure out which is me?”

Which one do you think is Taeyang? Current consensus is that he’s the first person, but he hasn’t confirmed it yet.

In addition, it seems that Seung Ri has been on Twitter since August 3rd, hiding under the name “Kyeon Woo”. It’s been confirmed by Master Hwang today that sexybackv1 is Seung Ri.

Edit: It looks like iBigBang are to blame for hunting down Seungri’s Twitter and asking Master Hwang to confirm his identity. Nice job, guys. :)

Shine A Light Fundraising Results

Although it wasn’t well-publicized until now, G-Dragon’s fans did some fund-raising during his Shine A Light concert last year, and 1,500,000 won (~$1267 USD) were sent to YG Entertainment as a result.

On August 9th, Sean tweeted to let fans know where the money went: to the construction of a nursing home for ALS sufferers. ALS is also known as Lou Gehrig’s Disease and is a fatal neurodegenerative disease that causes progressive paralysis.

Note: Some kpop blogs (like Oh! Kpop) didn’t pay enough attention to the Korean counting system and mistranslated the amount of money raised as “150 thousand won”. The amount is in fact one million and five hundred thousand won. $125 USD would have been sort of an embarrassing number to report, wouldn’t it?

G-Dragon reportedly dating Japanese model

Translated from Sanspo by Tama & Josh. This has now been denied by YG Entertainment, who have stated that they’re only close friends, but we found the article entertaining.

We learned on the 13th that the leader of popular Korean five-member group Big Bang, G-Dragon (21 years old), is going out with a beautiful model. His partner is Mizuhara Kiko, a model under contract with fashion magazine ViVi who made her acting debut in the movie Norwegian Wood [Norway no Mori], which will open December 11th. According to numerous sources, the two have been seeing each other since Big Bang’s major Japanese debut in June of last year, and are still dating seriously.

The leader of Korea’s national group’s first romance has come to light.

In June of last year, Big Bang achieved their major debut in Japan and were the first Korean group to win the Best New Artist Award at the Japan Record Awards. While widening the scope of their activities in Japan and with a packed schedule involving many round trips between Korea and Japan, G-Dragon cultivated a long-distance romance.

His partner Mizuhara is an exotic beauty born in Texas of an American father and a Korean mother and raised in Kobe. According to numerous sources, G-Dragon fell in love at first sight after Big Bang’s Japanese debut, and it evolved into a relationship.

G-Dragon’s girlfriend frequently visits him backstage at concerts, and the other members of Big Bang are also very fond of her. One source confided, “Her (Mizuhara’s) model friends know about the two of them dating.”

G-Dragon, who has been earning the nickname of “genius rapper” and been in the spotlight since the age of thirteen, is in charge of composing lyrics, music, and producing. As a hot guy possessing an unparalleled sense for music, he enjoys first-rate popularity within the group.

His other half, Mizuhara, debuted as a model in 2003 and appeared in fashion shows and commercials. She was chosen to be one of the principal actresses in Norwegian Wood, a movie that will open in December 2010 and is already a hot topic of discussion, and through which she’ll make her acting debut. In addition, because she’s trilingual through her familiarity with Japanese, Korean and English, she’s truly a perfect match for G-Dragon, who’s currently studying Japanese.

Big Bang are currently in Korea. They have plans to come to Japan for the release of their new song “Beautiful Hangover” on the 25th of this month, and their actions and singing will certainly attract attention.
