I originally found this interview on Big Bang Updates. I really enjoyed reading it, but the English translation available on Big Bang Updates is incomplete and not very representative of what the interviewer and Big Bang are actually saying, so I took it upon myself to re-translate the whole thing. Big Bang’s answers are quite in-depth and interesting, so please take a look even if you’ve already read the translation linked above.
Of course, full credit still goes to the awesome folks over at Big Bang Updates for scanning this article in the first place. :) Their translations are usually much better than this and their site is well worth visiting, so don’t judge them by this one.
“It’s been a year since we debuted in Japan, and it feels like we’ll be able to do promotional activities with an easy mind from now on.
We feel everyone’s enjoyment of our music even more, so the feeling that we have to try even harder has also increased for all five of us.”

As you all should know by now, G-Dragon got his big break in the world of hip-hop by participating in the collaborative album “2001 Daehanmingook Hip Hop Flex”. The solo song he recorded for the album, “G-Dragon”, garnered attention from the media when he debuted with YG Family a year later, in 2002.
The reason? This verse from the song:
열셋의 나이에 랩한다는게 좀 우습기도 해
난 매일 기도해 (사람들은 무시해)
그럼 볼래 비록 어린 내 라임에 세계 그럼 넌 뻔해
다른것과 비교할게 뻔해 내 또래 여자애 하나 (우와)
닮은 둘 난 달라 Sara Sara 이런 것 하진 않아 (yo)
As G-Dragon himself remarked in recent interviews, the lyrics of the song are nothing special – it’s mostly the usual rapper braggadocio, but the last part of this verse says roughly that his female peers can’t compare to him, and he goes on to dismissively reference BoA’s 2000 hit “Sara“. The actual words “Sara Sara” are bleeped out on the track.
After G-Dragon debuted on YG Family’s second album, he publicly apologized for the song, saying that he regretted recording it. He mentioned that he had only sung the lyrics and hadn’t written them himself – they were actually written by Huh In-Chang, a rapper and ex-member of the now-defunct hip-hop group X-Teen. G-Dragon also added that BoA was his female ideal and that he hoped she wouldn’t misunderstand.

Disclaimer: My Korean is far from perfect, so take this with a grain of salt until someone who’s actually competent confirms this.
This article claims that Stony Skunk finally broke up after seven years. Kush is still with YG Entertainment, but Skull chose to leave after his contract expired.
From what I understand, Skull is planning on forming his own record label – Saja Records – and will also pursue a solo career both in Korea and abroad.
In addition, this article states that Skull is expected to be featured on Mariah Carey’s next album. (For the newbies: YG had established contact with her through Morgan Carey, her brother, and they’d already been planning to collaborate before Skull was drafted.)
I don’t want to offer any further details since I can’t guarantee they’ll be accurate. Any native Korean speakers in the house? :)

Honey is a short-lived hip-hop trio formed in 1995. One of the members was Miae of Chuli and Miae fame. They released one self-titled album and disbanded shortly afterwards.
This song is track two of the album and was written and produced by Perry, who went by “Da Pho” at the time, as you can hear in the intro – yes, the man’s had about a million nicknames and stage names over the years!
Right click, save as:
Honey – Nopi deo nopi (Feat. Perry)
And here’s your kpop history lesson for the day, if you’re wondering how Perry ended up producing a Korean album in 1995, years before joining YG Entertainment: Sean from Jinusean is also credited for some of the writing and mixing on the album, and he already knew Perry from Guam, where he’d lived before moving to Korea to pursue dancing.
So what was Sean doing writing music well before he debuted as a rapper? The contacts he made from dancing for Seo Taiji & Boys is most likely what put him on the map as a potential producer/songwriter for Honey. Interestingly enough, he hasn’t really dabbled in songwriting or producing ever since, although he does write his own raps most of the time. :)
Perry is featured on a couple more tracks on Honey’s album and it has pretty good beats overall, so it’s worth buying if you manage to get your hands on it.

Se7en released a choreography practice clip for Digital Bounce on July 26th, before starting his promotions off with his M!Countdown comeback on July 29th. The rehearsal for the M! Countdown performance, which ended up winning the number one spot, was not filmed in front of fans as usual, but was instead private, partly due to the set and props taking a reported fifteen hours to assemble.
After a version of his performance without the MR (that is, without the various backing tracks) started making its way through various video sharing sites, netizens praised Se7en’s vocal abilities. Following this, Se7en went on to his MBC Music Core comeback on July 31st, where he again performed Digital Bounce with TOP and Better Together. The next day, on August 1st, it was SBS Inkigayo’s turn to have its own Se7en comeback performance.
Following those performances, Se7en reigned on Dosirak’s weekly music chart for the week of August 1st. On August 5th, he returned to M! Countdown to again claim the number one spot. During his acceptance speech, he mentioned Yang Hyun Suk and Lee Eun Joo’s baby and wished them happiness.
Along with his music show appearances, Se7en has also filmed for an episode of the variety show SBS Running Man and an episode of MC Kang Ho Dong’s Knee-Drop Guru.
