“FROM YG” messages made a comeback on August 2nd, when YG posted a message that was mostly about Taeyang’s activities. There is no official word yet on whether or not this reappearance was a one-off, but in the meantime, here’s what Hyun Suk had to say about Taeyang:
Taeyang’s “I Need A Girl” promotion activities will end with his August 14th MBC Music Core appearance due to the release of an international album on August 19th. This new album will have twelve tracks: two new tracks and ten previously-released tracks chosen based on their overseas popularity. Since “Wedding Dress” received so much love from international fans, a new, English version of the song will be featured on the album.
“Since a few months ago, YG has been making our artists’ tracks available through international iTunes, and the next step is to produce our artists’ future tracks and music videos in English versions, and we are planning to release these tracks through iTunes and YouTube and other famous international sites,” said YG, explaining that Taeyang’s international album is only the first step.
Also, as a thank-you to the fans, a DVD containing all of Taeyang’s already-released music videos and making-ofs will be packaged with the new international album.
The other new track on the international album will be “I’ll Be There”, written and composed by Teddy, and described by YG as a “strong, fast-tempo hip-hop R&B track”. Promotions for this new title song will begin with the album release on August 19th and will end in September. “I’ll Be There” will also have a music video by director Kim Hye Jeong, who directed G-Dragon’s “Butterfly” and “She’s Gone” videos. The music video concept and choreography by Shaun Evaristo are supposed to be drastically different from what we’ve seen from Taeyang previously. YG also praised Shaun, saying that “its uniqueness is to the point that after seeing the choreography in completion about a month ago, I told Shaun that it was the best routine I had seen from him in years.”
Of course, with this new album and new promotional activities, postponing Taeyang’s September 4th & 5th solo concert is only logical, as Big Bang also has Japanese activities going on, and Taeyang is filming commercials.
YG also goes on to share a little about the difficulties of booking a concert hall in Korea and about the difficulties of finding a venue having both the right number of seats and decent enough acoustics to hold a concert in.
